Organizations often need to access a former employee’s mailbox or OneDrive for legal, compliance, or investigative purposes. The Identity Panel Suite provides secure, auditable support for this scenario through its Service Panel and Access Panel applications.
How It Works
When an employee departs, their accounts and entitlements are typically deprovisioned. However, the system includes a controlled exception process that allows temporary access under strict governance:
-
Access Request: A request can be submitted by an authorized legal, HR, or compliance representative through the Service Panel interface.
-
Just-in-Time (JIT) Provisioning: Access is granted only for a defined period using JIT policies. These policies ensure that access is automatically revoked after the specified time.
-
Audit Logging: Every step—submission, approval, access provisioning, and revocation—is recorded with full detail, including the requester, approver, timestamps, and data accessed. These logs are retained according to your configured data retention policy.
Business Value
This approach ensures that access to sensitive information is temporary, traceable, and fully compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements. It enables organizations to meet legal obligations without compromising security or operational integrity.
