When an employee departs, it's essential for identity systems to capture and respond to that change quickly. Identity Panel, using HyperSync Panel, automatically collects key termination details from Workday and propagates them to connected systems. This supports timely deprovisioning, access control, and compliance.
What Termination Data Is Collected
The system retrieves structured termination data from Workday, including:
-
Employee ID: A unique identifier for the employee
-
Name: Full name of the employee at the time of termination
-
Termination Date: The formal end date of employment
-
Last Working Day: The final day the employee was active in their role
These fields are treated as authoritative and can trigger downstream actions in other systems, such as disabling accounts, revoking access, or logging exit data.
How HyperSync Panel Processes Termination Data
HyperSync Panel acts as the synchronization engine within Identity Panel. It continuously monitors Workday and other connected systems for changes. When a termination is recorded in Workday:
-
HyperSync imports the relevant attributes into Identity Panel.
-
The Join Rule framework ensures the data links to the correct identity across systems.
-
If configured, stateful sync rules in HyperSync will trigger automatic deprovisioning actions based on the termination or last working date.
-
Changes are logged in Time Traveler, providing full audit history and rollback capability if needed.
This automated workflow eliminates manual steps and ensures consistency across platforms like Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), and others.
