How Automated Approval Routing Works
Access Panel uses request policies and criteria policies to determine how and where to route an access request:

Request Policies define the approval chain and conditions under which a request must be reviewed. These policies can assign requests to specific roles, departments, or individuals based on business logic and identity attributes.

Criteria Policies filter which resources are eligible for access and under what conditions, ensuring each request aligns with entitlement rules.
When a user submits a request, the system evaluates these policies and routes it to the appropriate approver—such as a manager, data owner, or delegated reviewer—automatically. This removes the manual steps often required in traditional request handling and ensures consistency in approval logic.
