Access Panel supports role and permission profiling directly within the access request process. One powerful capability is the ability to display how many users in a specific job code or role already have a given permission when a request is being reviewed. This provides reviewers with valuable context, improving approval accuracy and reducing risk.
This feature is part of Access Panel’s dynamic approval form functionality, which uses real-time data to guide decisions.
How It Works
When a user submits an access request, Access Panel can display statistical insight on the approval form showing how many other users in the organization—filtered by job code, department, or other attributes—already have the requested entitlement. This information is retrieved from the system’s underlying identity data model and joined silos (also known as the Identity Graph).
Key capabilities include:
-
Real-Time Peer Comparison: View how many users with the same job code, title, or department already have the permission.
-
Customizable Display: Use rule logic to determine which statistics to show based on request type or audience.
-
Supports Complex Organizations: Profiling can include nested groups, cross-domain users, or multi-silo data.
This profiling data is typically displayed using Service Panel forms linked to Access Panel’s request lifecycle. Forms can include count-based insights, such as:
-
“12 users with Job Code 417 currently have access to Oracle Financials.”
-
“3 peers in your department have the requested admin role.”
These insights are made possible through a combination of Access Panel’s entitlement tracking, Time Traveler's historical data, and the Join Graph for identity correlation.
