Access Panel is a powerful entitlement management solution designed to support role-based access control and governance. One of its key features is the ability to conduct User Entitlement Reviews, which helps organizations maintain visibility and control over the permissions granted across systems.
An entitlement review allows organizations to validate that users have only the access they need, no more and no less. This is a critical part of meeting compliance requirements and reducing security risks associated with excessive or outdated access.
How It Works
When performing a User Entitlement Review within Access Panel:
-
The system retrieves a user’s entitlements: These are the access rights and permissions currently assigned to the user. This data is pulled from configured identity sources (such as Active Directory, Azure AD, or HR systems) using Projected Silos.
-
Permissions are mapped to roles and resources: Access Panel evaluates what permissions are associated with each role the user holds. These roles can be defined through business rules, groups, or specific policy configurations.
-
Details are presented clearly for review: The system provides a breakdown showing which roles are assigned, what resources those roles grant access to, and any potential policy violations (e.g., separation of duties conflicts or overprovisioning).
The entitlement data is displayed within Access Panel's user interface, making it easy for reviewers (such as managers or compliance officers) to understand what access exists and take corrective action if needed.
